I'd write your name in poetry,if I only knew how

The sun casts shadows on your face
and peeks through your hair, dancing shadows
upon mine. The urge is there to take hold
of your hand and trace our lifes
with our footprints in the sand.

My heart beats
like thunder in a cloudless sky
while the sun reflects in eyes and
a whisper falls off your lips
and into the ground where I lay.
The whisper echos to the heavens, tears
pouring down my cheeks and it rains in
your heart. You walk away, knowing
I won't be there to trace our lifes with our
footprints in the sand.
